Position Overview : Save-A-Lot is seeking an experienced and dedicated Manager for our Produce Department. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience managing a produce department in a retail environment.

The Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the produce department, including inventory management, staff supervision, customer service, and ensuring compliance with safety and sanitation standards.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Manage daily operations of the produce department, including ordering, receiving, stocking, and merchandising produce products.
  • Ensure all produce products meet quality and freshness standards, and handle any issues related to product quality or freshness promptly
  • Supervise and train produce department staff, including scheduling, performance evaluations, and providing ongoing coaching and feedback
  • Monitor inventory levels and assist with inventory management processes, including conducting regular stock counts and implementing measures to minimize shrinkage.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by assisting customers with inquiries, offering product recommendations, and resolving any concerns or complaints in a professional and timely manner
  • Implement sales and promotional strategies to drive departmental sales and meet revenue targets.
  • Collaborate with store management and other department managers to optimize overall store operations and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications :

  • 5 years of experience managing a produce department in a retail setting preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of produce and preparation techniques.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and coach a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks, delegate effectively, and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on maintaining high standards of quality, freshness, and cleanliness.
  • Proficiency in inventory management and basic computer skills.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
