We are seeking a skilled painter/drywall technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing surfaces, applying paint using brushes, rollers, and occasionally, sprayers, installing drywall, and finishing drywall joints to ensure a smooth surface. The painter/drywall technician will work on a variety of projects, both commercial and residential, and will be responsible for completing jobs in a timely and efficient manner.

Responsibilities

• Prepare surfaces by scraping, sanding, and filling cracks and holes
• Apply the paint using brushes, rollers, or sprayers
• Cover floors and furniture with drop cloths and tape to protect them from paint
• Install drywall using screws or nails, ensuring that it is level and flush with surrounding surfaces
• Cut and install metal corner beads to protect corners and edges
• Tape and finish joints and corners using joint compound, smoothing and sanding surfaces to a seamless finish
• Apply texture to walls and ceilings using spray equipment or hand tools
• Repair or replace damaged drywall as necessary
• Ensure the work area is clean and safe
• Keep accurate records of materials used and hours worked

Desired Skills

• Ability to stand, bend, and kneel for extended periods of time
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Proven experience as a painter/drywall technician
• Knowledge of painting and drywall installation and finishing techniques, materials, and equipment
• Attention to detail and ability to work independently
• Excellent time management skills
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $27.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 45 per week

Schedule:

• 10 hour shift
• 8 hour shift
