OmniTRAX is looking to hire a Roadmaster to join our dynamic team of employees in a fast-growing, fast-paced work environment. The Roadmaster plans all track-related activities including, but not limited to: working with railroad management to define priorities, establish performance expectations, performance metrics and measurements, and evaluate performance to plan, and the improvement of overall activities for the Maintenance of Way (MOW) department. Ensures safe completion of work activities to meet customer expectations and company standards and objectives.The Roadmaster demonstrates and adheres to the company values of safety, honesty, ownership, respect and teamwork to ensure successful partnership with customers and employees that result in OmniTRAX’s continued success.ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIESEnsure compliance with all railroad rules and regulations for safety, operation and the Federal Railroad Association (FRA)Promote and support safety programs and safety goals for all Maintenance of Way groups on the railroadArticulate a focused, clear vision for the strategic priorities of the business and aggressively drive those of highest importance throughout the propertyDevelop work plans and track maintenance activities to support operating efficiencies and the railroad’s customer service commitmentsWork with the General Manager and Engineering Department to assign and prioritize programs for maintenance operations and capital budgetsSchedule activities of contractors engaged in the maintenance and repair of railroad track; assign/prioritize programs and projects for maintenance forcesEnsure engineering instructions pertaining to inspections, maintenance, and construction work is adhered to by contractorsConduct audit inspections of railroad and customer infrastructure assets for any defects affecting safe operation of train traffic; input findings into applicable database system (ENSCO)Develop budget and comply to budget; monitor spend in materials, usage and inventoryDevelop and execute engineering plans that achieve the capital programEnsure cooperation, communication and interaction with all functions of the property and upper management, as appropriatePerform CDL work to meet qualifications of the FMCSA Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Subpart B: Qualification and Disqualification of Drivers and other regulations as applicable, including but not limited to, Part 391.11 COMPENSATIONFLSA Status: Exempt, Not Eligible for OvertimeEligible for Participation - Annual Discretionary Bonus BENEFITSFulfilling a role in an industry that keeps this country running isn’t the only reason to work for OmniTRAX.
