Job Description:

Simon Miccio Gallery is seeking a passionate and organized individual to join our team as a Gallery Assistant. As a member of our gallery staff, you will play a role in ensuring the smooth operations of daily activities.

Responsibilities:

Ensure the gallery is ready for operation in the morning and securely closed at the end of the day.

Maintain stock of essential supplies such as water, paper towels, and toilet paper.

Clean and organize the gallery space to ensure a welcoming environment for clients and visitors.

Greet and engage with gallery visitors, providing information about artists and exhibitions.

Record and manage gallery contacts efficiently.

Assist Gallery Owner with tasks, including booking travel arrangements, gallery errands, etc.

Create reports as needed for gallery operations.

Assist in the installation and de-installation of art exhibitions.

Handle the packaging, handling, and transportation of artworks.

Assist with organizing and coordinating events, openings, and artist talks.

Handle sales transactions and assist clients with purchases.

Manage gallery inventory and maintain accurate records.

Requirements:

Previous experience in a gallery or art-related environment is preferred, as are knowledge and passion for contemporary art.

Strong organizational and multitasking skills.

Experience or skills in marketing will be advantageous, and proficiency in graphic design is a plus.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Punctuality and dependability are key attributes for this role.

Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic team environment.

Attention to detail and a proactive attitude.

Proficiency in basic computer applications. (Artlogic, Notion, and Salesforce)

Proficiency in both Spanish and English is required.

Working Hours:

Thursday to Sunday, with additional hours for events as needed.

Compensation:

Hourly Rate
