Data Engineer (Data Warehouse Developer III)

Job Description:
We have an immediate opening at the Department of Employee Trust Funds (ETF) for a strong Data Engineer to participate in our Data Management Program. Data is one of our most valuable assets and we strive to become a more data-literate and data-driven organization. This position will work on a small, collaborative team that uses agile practices to deliver value to our business partners.
Desired Experience:
Gathering requirements and developing technical specifications for ETL – 6 years
Using ETL tools to design ETL jobs (ETL 6 years, preferably 2 years of with Alteryx)
Developing various types of data loads (e.g. incremental, history/full, survivorship rules) – 6 years
Implementing change data capture (CDC) – 4 years
Testing and debugging ETL – 6 years
Developing complex SQL - 6 years
ETL job scheduling – 2 years
Loading data warehouses using ETL tools – 2 years
Management of multiple ETL tools
Experience with data quality tools and frameworks
Using source code version control software
Mentoring to others on ETL development
Managing multiple, concurrent projects and tasks
Having strong interpersonal skills including communication, mentoring, collaborating, and team building

Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain data warehouse solutions using ETL processes, SQL queries, and data modeling techniques.
- Collaborate with team members to gather requirements and ensure data accuracy and integrity.
- Utilize tools like Alteryx, Microsoft SQL Server, and Git for debugging and version control.
- Mentor junior developers in best practices for data warehouse development.
- Demonstrate strong communication skills to effectively convey complex technical concepts.
- Stay updated on industry trends and technologies to enhance data warehouse capabilities.
