POSITION SUMMARY:
The Director of Family Achievement and Cultural Community Enrichment Services (FACCES) is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing and implementing programs and initiatives to promote family success, cultural enrichment, and community engagement. This position requires a dynamic individual with a deep understanding of diverse cultures, community development principles, and strategies to foster positive outcomes for families. The Director of FACCES plays a vital role in advancing the Court's mission to empower families and strengthen communities through culturally responsive programs and services. The FACCES department includes the following areas of the Court: Juvenile Detention Alternative Initiative, Specialty Dockets, Behavioral Health Clinicians, Reentry, Grants, Programs, and Services Manager, and CourtRide. The FACCES department is not limited to the areas listed above, as additional areas may be assigned.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The essential functions listed are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
1. Oversees the day-to-day operations of the Family Achievement and Cultural Community Enrichment Services (FACCES)department and ensures processes are consistent with the Mission and Vision of the Court. Serve as a spokesperson for the Court at community events and meetings.
2. Design, develop, and implement programs and services that promote family achievement and cultural community enrichment.
3. Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure programs align with organizational goals and community needs.
4. Continuously assess program effectiveness and make recommendations for improvements.
5. Build and maintain relationships with community stakeholders, including families, cultural organizations, schools, and local government agencies.
6. Identify opportunities for community collaboration and partnership to enhance program impact and reach.
7. Supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Courts business practices and policies including, but not limited to, training employees, and participating in the hiring process; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
8. Develop and manage the department budget, ensuring resources are allocated effectively to support program goals and objectives.
9. Seek out funding opportunities, grants, and sponsorships to sustain and expand program offerings.
10. Collect and analyze data related to program outcomes, participant demographics, and community impact.
11. Prepare regular reports for Court leadership, funders, and other stakeholders to demonstrate program effectiveness and accountability.
12. Foster an inclusive and culturally sensitive environment within programs and services.
13. Ensure internal and external stakeholders receive training on cultural competency and sensitivity to better serve diverse populations.
14. Advocate for policies and initiatives that support family achievement, cultural diversity, and community enrichment.
15. Stay informed about local, state, and national policies affecting families and communities, and engage in advocacy efforts as appropriate.
16. Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
A bachelor’s degree in sociology, social work, criminology, political science, psychology, or closely related field. Masters preferred. Minimum of five (5) years of experience in program management, community development and grants. Minimum of four (4) years of management/supervisory experience that includes administrative responsibilities. Strong understanding of family dynamics, cultural diversity, and community engagement principles. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills. Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders and build strong partnerships. Proficiency in data analysis and reporting. Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion. Strong organizational, communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills. Must be able to work effectively with diverse groups of people and handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
