Women's Health CT is currently seeking a full-time, Medical Biller/Coder at our fast-paced OB/GYN practice in New Britain.

Position Summary: The Medical Biller/Coder with New Britain OB/GYN is responsible for entering and reconciling charges and payments from medical offices in a timely and accurate manner. This position requires pre-existing medical billing and charge posting experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for entering and reconciling charges and payments from medical offices in a timely and accurate manner
• Position works in a close team environment to meet daily and monthly billing metrics
• Other responsibilities include verifying correct insurance filing information on behalf of the client and patient
• Keeps management informed of matters regarding charge entry
• Trend and escalate billing issues to appropriate supervisory level
• Maintain and respect the confidentiality of PHI (Protected Health Information) in accordance with insurance collection guidelines, corporate policy and all HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) mandates. Candidate will have access to PHI based on the HIPAA minimum necessary standards
• Adhere to all corporate compliance mandates and guidelines.
• Follow internal protocols regarding departmental communications.
• Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
• Other duties as assigned by Management

Skills/Qualifications:

• ·High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2-3 years of Medical Billing and Coding experience.
• Prior experience performing charge entry, coding, is required.
• OB/GYN - Women's Health experience, is preferred.
• Computer proficiency including Microsoft applications and EMR experience, is required.
• Ability to multi-task with high attention to detail.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $24.00 per hour
