Commercial Construction Project Manager

Storage Building Company is a fast-growing company with tremendous career opportunities. We are looking for a Commercial Construction Project Manager. This position will be responsible for managing multiple active projects in various locations. This position will work from our Bradenton, FL office location. We seek a hardworking individual with great communication and excellent time management skills.

Skills and Requirements

  • Attend Weekly meetings with General Contractors and vendors
  • Participate in project kickoff meetings
  • Determine resources needed (manpower, equipment, and materials) from start to finish with attention to budget limitations.
  • Schedule and coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and clients for the timely completion of projects.
  • Effectively identify issues and make decisions with a level of urgency needed to keep deadlines and budgets intact.
  • Overseeing cost control to include monitoring the preparation of contract documents, budgets, scheduling, scope of work, and processing of invoices.
  • Compose the Scope of Work for fabricators and installers.
  • Manage and monitor the work of subcontractors; provide follow-up to ensure completion of work and accurate, timely deliveries.
  • Create and monitor RFI’s and submittals.
  • Understand and prepare the scope of work.
  • Ensure safety compliance on site.
  • Assist in the training of the Assistant Project Manager
  • Manage information in project management software and Plangrid
  • Provide weekly project status updates with Field Supervisors and Installers.
  • Process and Review change orders for General Contractors and subcontractors.
  • Generate consistent monthly AIA billings.
  • Ability to read and understand drawings proficiently.
  • Attend project site visits when necessary.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with all vendors.

Desired Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of project management experience. Construction experience is highly preferred.
  • Preferred experience in structural steel and/or light gauge steel framing.
  • Must be proficient in reading design plans.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Must be organized and able to work well in a team setting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with Sage, RedTeam, Plangrid, Bluebeam or Procore
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Must be highly organized and detail-oriented.

  • Bilingual in Spanish and English
