Job Summary:
The Director of Operations for a home health agency specializing in developmental disabilities is responsible for the strategic direction, management, and oversight of all operational activities related to providing care and support services to individuals with developmental disabilities. This role requires leadership, strategic planning, and operational excellence to ensure the delivery of person-centered care and compliance with regulatory standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve the agency's mission and objectives in providing care and support services to individuals with developmental disabilities. Identify growth opportunities and service expansion initiatives.
  • Leadership and Management: Provide leadership and direction to the agency's staff, including direct support professionals, clinicians, and administrative personnel. Foster a culture of compassion, inclusion, and empowerment.
  • Program Development: Oversee the development and implementation of programs and services tailored to the unique needs of individuals with developmental disabilities, including residential support, day programs, behavioral support, and community integration services.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations governing the provision of services to individuals with developmental disabilities, including licensing, certification, and accreditation requirements.
  • Quality Assurance: Develop and implement quality assurance programs to monitor and improve the quality of care and support services provided to individuals with developmental disabilities. Monitor outcomes, client satisfaction, and compliance with best practices and regulatory standards.
  • Staff Development: Recruit, train, and supervise staff members, providing ongoing education and professional development opportunities to enhance their skills and competencies in supporting individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Financial Management: Manage the agency's budget and financial resources effectively, including revenue generation, expense control, and financial reporting. Ensure the efficient use of resources while maintaining high-quality services.
  • Community Engagement: Build and maintain positive relationships with individuals with developmental disabilities, their families, caregivers, advocacy groups, funding agencies, and other stakeholders in the community. Collaborate with community partners to enhance service coordination and access to resources.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks related to the provision of services to individuals with developmental disabilities, including health and safety concerns, behavioral challenges, and legal liabilities. Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure client well-being and minimize risks.

Qualifications/Experience Required:

  • Requirements 1 : One year of full-time paid work experience with supervision of employees, development, oversight, and/or supervision of programs or services and financial management of an organization.
