Provides support in Coordination of various components of clinical research projects

JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES

1)Research Projects:

Assists principal investigators with scientific research projects focused ongastrointestinal cancers and/or endoscopyReads literature and confers with principal investigators regarding new research methods and modifies them according to the needs of the projectFunctions, under supervision, in the design and initiation of research projects Assists in training and research work activity for assigned project and research personnelSubmits project results to principal investigators

2)Compliance/Regulatory Coordination:Maintain all regulatory documents for all research projectsRespond to compliance-related queries as needed.

3)Publications:Utilizes technical writing ability to assist in the composition of abstracts, manuscripts,research projects, reports and other medical/scientific correspondence under the direction of study investigatorsEditing and/or writing sections of protocols, grants and reports as directed by study investigatorsReviewing manuscripts before submission to publishing companies

Service OrientationProvide service to our stakeholders, including patients, caregivers, colleagues and each other, in a safe, courteous, accountable, efficient and innovative manner to include:

Promoting inclusiveness and collegiality that demonstrates respect and professionalism to our stakeholders at all times

Modeling safe, ethical behavior that mitigates risk to the institution through sound business practices, and adherence to MD Anderson’s Standards of Conduct, institutional policies and procedures

Responding to requests in a timely manner while proactively communicating expectations for procedures, service arrival, or project deliverables to stakeholders

Using the steps to HEAL (Hear, Empathize, Address and Learn) the relationship when service recovery is needed

EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree with major course works in one of the basic sciences.

EXPERIENCE: One year experience in scientific or experimental research work.

No experience required with preferred degree.
