Position Summary

The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing project planning, coordination, and execution, ensuring alignment with customer specifications, project requirements, timelines, and scope. Key duties include performing quantitative take-offs, understanding specifications, obtaining material prices, estimating costs, handling proposals, and fostering customer relationships. Additionally, the candidate will track and communicate project updates to relevant stakeholders, clients, and project team members.

ResponsibilitiesProject Management

• Comply with all local, state, and federal laws and regulations, including those related to taxes, labor laws, OSHA, MSHA, and other government department regulations.
• Recommend necessary supervisory changes to the Construction Manager and Project Manager.
• Provide feedback to project staff regarding expectations and performance.
• Ensure ethical and prudent project operations for the company.
• Identify safety issues on the job and halt work if the problem cannot be resolved without risk of injury.
• Assist in the start of work for subcontractors and monitor their performance.
• Conduct meetings with other Project Managers and site management to discuss matters affecting job performance.
• Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external customers.
• Oversee the execution of industrial paint coatings to ensure adherence to specifications and quality standards.
• Manage project controls, including writing reports, monitoring budgeted expenditures, cash flow, project progress, and preparing financial reports for management.

Estimating

• Read and comprehend bid inquiries, specifications, drawings, and contract requirements.
• Attend pre-bid and pre-award meetings.
• Perform accurate quantitative take-offs using estimating software.
• Review and check quantities and take-offs prepared by others.
• Develop accurate cost estimates, including material prices, labor unit prices, cost extensions, and cost summaries for management review.
• Generate comprehensive proposals, including all requested information and appropriate alternates to supplement the base bid.
• Communicate with customers before and after proposal submissions.
• Manage time effectively to work on multiple estimates to meet deadlines.
• Attend kick-off meetings to ensure smooth transitions from estimating to project management and construction.
• Evaluate pricing structures to determine the best value for projects ranging from $5,000 to $30,000,000.
• Develop schedules, flow charts, organization charts, and other proposal documents to support proposal details.
• Complete Owner/Customer Score Cards, RFP Score Cards, and Job Approval Slips.
• Attend Monthly Operation Reviews (MORs).

Qualifications/Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field; or at least 3-5 years of related experience/training; or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• Proficiency in estimating software programs (e.g., Comput-Ability, MIKE), and Microsoft Office products (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Project, Outlook).
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to present ideas clearly both verbally and in writing.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
