Seeking experienced Accountant – Internal Accountant Overview 

KL Scott and Associates is seeking an Internal Accountant to join our team. In this role, you will play an important part in our company’s financial operations, ensuring accuracy in accounting and compliance with the law. While we are a fully remote organization, the ideal candidate must be local to Atlanta, Georgia.

Responsibilities: 

1. Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, to provide accurate and timely financial information to management.
2. Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the development of annual budgets and periodic forecasts, working closely with VP of Operations to ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
3. General Ledger Maintenance: Manage the general ledger system, including posting journal entries, reconciling accounts, and maintaining accurate financial records.
4. Compliance: Ensure compliance with accounting principles, standards, and regulations, including GAAP and relevant tax laws. Stay updated on changes in accounting regulations, particularly within the federal government, and implement necessary adjustments.
5. Internal Controls: Develop and implement internal control procedures to safeguard company assets, prevent fraud, and ensure accuracy in financial reporting.
6. Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making processes, identify trends, and provide insights into the company's financial performance.
7. Project Financial Analysis: Support Project Engagement Managers with earned value management (EVM) of project budgets to provide insights into each project’s financial performance.
8. Provide Consultant Utilization Analysis: Provide analysis and reports on consulting utilization rates and profitability.
9. Financial Dashboard Management: Maintain and manage, in real time, executive financial dashboard providing analysis of CEO’s financial KPIs across all business units
10. Audit Support: Assist external auditors during financial audits by providing documentation, explanations, and support as needed.
11. Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains within the finance function and collaborate with colleagues to implement solutions.
12. Ad hoc Projects: Support special projects and initiatives as assigned by senior management, providing financial expertise and analysis as required.

Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting
• Unanet or industry leading Financial Management ERP (e.g., SAGE, Infor, SAP, etc.)
• Prior experience with a management consulting, accounting, or law firm
• 5 to 8 years of industry experience
• Must be local to Atlanta, Georgia
• Excellent writing and presentation skills. 
• Strong organizational and time management skills. 
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team 
• Must pass a drug and background check

Working Conditions:
