As a Training Excellence Specialist, you will be able to consult with experts to identify training needs, conceptualize, design, develop and implement impactful training programs. This position will develop instructional solutions to support training excellence by setting appropriate training objectives, reviewing existing training initiatives and programs to update and maintain a repository of training standards and learning materials. The Training Excellence Specialist works closely with cross-functional teams to effectively utilize a variety of learning principles, operational systems, and technology tools to create sustainable restaurant results by developing people. This individual will utilize or create structures to track and assess the impact of implemented training programs, operational excellence tests and other learning solutions.

Essential Duties

  • Assists the training team in creating learning materials and programs in the form of videos, digital assets, and print collateral for training projects.
  • Serves as liaison for contributing departments and communicates initiatives for restaurant-level process changes and improvements.
  • Collaborates with a cross-functional team to identify and eliminate unnecessary training materials and support ongoing updates to improve training programs.
  • Assists in operations deployment to ensure effective and successful implementation of product-related initiatives.
  • Improves operational performance by integrating initiatives and training that simplify processes and drive out complexity.
  • Participates in collecting, organizing, and analytically summarizing feedback on existing training programs and materials.
  • Creates communication materials and presentations for executive/field-level audience as needed.
  • Prioritizes and applies project management skills to timelines and milestones.
  • Exercises independent judgment and decision-making in planning, organizing, and conducting work assignments whilst working collaboratively.
  • Communicates BBI and brand values and exemplifies BBI Principles & Beliefs.

Education, Experience & Skills Required

• Bachelor’s Degree or certification in hospitality, business or equivalent expertise gained from time on the job.

• Minimum 2-4 years of restaurant or hospitality management experience with a passion for training.

• Self-motivated, able to work independently and navigate through ambiguity to provide simple solutions.

• Develops positive working relationships and communicates effectively with others to achieve shared wins.

• Willingly embraces change and demonstrates openness to learning and trying new things.

• Uses sound judgment and takes responsibility for making decisions.

• Puts the experience of the Guest and those who take care of them at the heart of every decision.

• Holds self-accountable for meeting objectives and following through on expected outcomes.

• Creative and can translate vision into solid, instructionally sound training solutions.

• Knowledge of project management.

• Excellent time management and organizational skills.

• Ability to adapt in a fast-paced, changing environment.

• Ability to effectively multi-task and manage multiple projects and deliverables.

• Self-motivated, able to work independently and navigate through ambiguity to provide simple solutions.

• Strong interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills.

• Embraces diverse cultures, backgrounds and experiences of Team Members and commits to supporting an inclusive environment.

• Fluent in Microsoft Office suite.

• Articulate Rise comprehension is preferred.
