Job Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and energetic Activity Assistant to join our team at Gulfside Health & Rehabilitation. As an Activity Assistant, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our residents in a nursing home or assisted living setting. You will assist in planning and implementing engaging activities that promote socialization, physical well-being, and mental stimulation.

Duties:
- Assist in planning and organizing a variety of activities for residents, such as games, crafts, outings, and entertainment events
- Engage residents in one-on-one or group activities to promote socialization and companionship
- Assist with the setup and cleanup of activity areas
- Escort residents to and from activities ensuring their safety and comfort
- Encourage resident participation in activities by providing motivation and support
- Observe and document residents' responses to activities, noting any changes or concerns
- Collaborate with other staff members to develop and implement individualized care plans for residents
- Provide assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) as needed

Qualifications:
- Current Certified Nurse Aide certification
- Previous experience working with seniors or in a caregiving role is preferred
- Knowledge of aging issues and familiarity with senior care practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage schedules and coordinate multiple activities simultaneously
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Basic computer skills for documentation purposes

Expected hours: 16 per week

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Weekends only
