True World Group (TWG) is a holding company of multiple international companies (US, Canada, UK, Spain, Japan, Korea, China, Germany, etc.). As the Corporate Controller at True World Group LLC, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the financial operations and ensuring compliance within our dynamic and rapidly growing organization in the foods industry. Reporting directly to the VP of Accounting/ Finance Department, you will be responsible for financial reporting, budgeting, internal controls, and strategic financial analysis to support business decision-making.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
1. Financial Reporting
o Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP for presentation to senior management and external stakeholders.
o Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data, including revenue recognition, inventory valuation, and cost of goods sold.
2. Budgeting and Forecasting
o Lead the annual budgeting process in collaboration with department heads, providing guidance on revenue projections, expense allocations, and capital expenditures.
o Develop financial models and forecasts to support strategic planning and decision-making.
3. Internal Controls
o Establish and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, and mitigate financial risks.
o Conduct periodic reviews and assessments of control procedures, recommending enhancements as needed.
4. Cost Management
o Analyze product costs, manufacturing variances, and distribution expenses to identify opportunities for cost optimization and operational efficiency.
o Partner with operations and supply chain teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives and reduce costs.
5. Tax Compliance
o Manage all aspects of tax compliance, including preparation and filing of federal, state, and local tax returns.
o Coordinate with external tax advisors to optimize tax strategies and minimize tax liabilities.
6. Audit Coordination
o Serve as the primary liaison for external auditors, coordinating audit schedules, providing requested documentation, and addressing audit inquiries.
o Ensure timely completion of audits and resolution of any audit findings.
7. Financial Systems
o Work closely with IT department in the ongoing implementation of ERP systems.
o Provide training and support to finance team members on system usage and best practices.
Qualifications
o CPA required. Familiarity with IFRS accounting standards.
o Deep understanding of consolidations.
o Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in financial management & accounting roles within the foods industry.
o Strong understanding of cost accounting principles, inventory management, and food industry regulations.
o Familiarity with accounting for wholesale, retail, and e-commerce.
o Proficiency in financial reporting software ERP (Sage X3 is desired) & advanced Excel skills.
