Perkins County Sheriff's Office consists of a Sheriff, 6 Sheriff's Deputies, and 1 Administratvie Deputy that provide services to approximately 3000 people in a 2891 square mile jurisidction. Located within our county is the Grand River Natioanl Grasslands. This is public land that accounts for approximately 150,000 acres which has fishing, hiking, and hunting opportunities. We also have a prime recreational oportunity with Shadehill Reservoire. Shadehill is approximately 5,000 surface acre lake that affords great fishing, boating, and camping.
Compensation DOQ: $20.67 to $21.67 per hour, includes 11 paid holidays. We recognize the importance of family time and holidays are assigned on a rotating basis.

This is a full time position located in Lemmon, South Dakota.
Duties/Requirements: Perkins County Sheriff's Office provides law enforcement to all county residents, to include the municipalities, as the sole law enforcement office within the county. We are looking for an upstanding deputy sheriff to protect the citizens and property of our county. The deputy sheriff will patrol within the county, investigate crimes, carry out civil court orders, assist ctizens, escourt detainees to and from jail and court, and keep records, Deputies will collaborate with municipal, state,and federal partners.
Personal Equipment: All equipment necessary for the deputies to safely and effectively perform their duties are provided, to include: uniforms, firearms, duty gear, body armour to include load bearing external carrier, recent purchased body and in-car vdeo system, and take home vehicles.
