Position: Team Lead (Dough Portioner)

Rate: Hourly rate commensurate with experience

Time: Full-time

Duties include:

• Operate specialty equipment (Vemag 500 Dough Portioner) to cut portioned cookie dough pucks according to specific weights and sizes.
• Move controls and turns valves to adjust metering devices--turn knobs, dials and set timer.
• Maintain a coherent understanding of how the operated machine works.
• Maintain and monitor the machine to ensure it functions properly and take action if it is not.
• Adjust machine as needed for changeovers, different functions, & varying needs of production
• Analyze machine operations and output by keeping exact records.
• Conduct periodic quality checks of finished products.
• Record the number of batches and relevant lot numbers on appropriate forms.
• Work with Facility Manager to adhere to production schedules.
• Ensuring proper labeling/dating guidelines and product rotation protocols are followed.

Machine Operator Skills Required:

• Technical ability to operate machinery.
• Understanding of measurements, accuracy, and use of scales.
• Ability to multitask and produce in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be team oriented.
• Knowledge of safe machine practice standards.
• Ability to read blueprints or production schematics required.
• Ability to perform small to moderate repairs on machinery.
• Experience working with or training on a Vemag 500 or related machinery is a plus.
• Experience and relevant credentials is generally preferred over a college degree.
• ServeSafe Certification, or ability to pass a ServSafe test required.
• Prior knowledge of FIFO product rotation systems strongly preferred.
• Strong attention to detail required.
