The Encapsulator Operator is primarily responsible for the setup/tear-down and smooth operation of Encapsulator and Semi-Automatic Encapsulator machines. Other duties may include: Operating, setup/tear-down of machinery used in Blending, Weighing, Packaging, Labeling, and other cGMP manufacturing processes needed to complete project.

Essential Functions

Machine Operations

• Responsible for properly setting up and calibrating encapsulator machine and semi-automatic encapsulator
• Assist with other machine operations, including: 8-Head Filler, Soft Gel Machine, Pumps, Balances Blenders, etc.
• Breakdown and disassemble machine parts for cleaning and product changes, re-assembles machine for product changes or shift changes
• Troubleshoot problems with equipment, devices, or products and make minor adjustments. Notify maintenance of delays or malfunctions

Ensure GMP & FDA Standards

• Correctly prepare raw materials based on batch records, accurately weigh components, samples, batches, and bulk product using scales
• Read, understand, and follow all appropriate SOPs and procedures
• Keep production logs and other logs related to Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) procedures. Complete all paperwork neatly and accurately; including batch records, equipment logs, forms as needed

Support Organizational Operations

• Coordinate with Quality Control (QC) and Manufacturing Manager in scheduling and manufacturing while remaining in compliance with GMP standards
• Work with QA on documentation and meeting cGMP compliance requirements
• Regularly communicate with manufacturing manager to obtain manufacturing scheduling
• Assist QC in developing, building and testing new products, processes, and procedures
• Provide guidance or training to other production team members as needed
• Assist with the operation of bottling machinery during packaging, such as: 3-Roller Labeler, Capsule Counter, Induction Sealer, Capper, Cottoner, Polisher , Nitrogen Doser, etc.

Skills and Qualifications

• 1-3 years working as an encapsulator operator in dietary supplement manufacturing environment (FDA Regulation: 21 CFR 111)
• 1-3 years’ experience working in a cGMP manufacturing facility
• Ability to perform basic math functions to include ratios and decimals
• Ability to analyze and revise operating practices to improve efficiency
• Can execute excellent time management and organizational skills
• Works well independently as well as within a team setting
• Must be an effective listener and communicator
• Must be a self-starter and creative problem solver

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods standing, stooping, and walking
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times
• Must be able to hear/ listen for machine operations
• Required PPE when in manufacturing facility: facemask, hair net, gloves, foot covers, etc.

Position Type: Non-Exempt / Hourly

Position is Monday - Thursday 6:00am until 4:30pm.
