Job Description:

• Responsible for cleaning and maintaining habitats and enclosures for a variety of species
• Observes and reports any unusual behavior and conditions to senior staff
• Hands on contact with all animals on property which includes cats, dogs, otters, pigs, skunks, ferrets, porcupines, ducks, chickens, macaws, cockatoos, hawks, vultures, cravens, and owls.
• When applicable, will be expected to learn how to back up animal shows
• Potential to be trained to host animal show
• Establish excellent time management skills in order to complete shift with high efficiency and productivity
• Use strong interpersonal skills to form and maintain positive relationships in the work environment
• Responsible for projects and goals set by managers
• Expected to complete training projects assigned
• Shift is 6am to 3pm

Qualifications:

• Must be 18 years or older
• High school diploma
• Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds
• Must be able to perform strenuous tasks in all weather conditions
• Must be punctual, have a good work ethic, and enthusiastic attitude
• Will be able to communicate effectively with coworkers, both orally and written
• Follow directions well
• Self-motivated and efficient with time management
• Must be able to work independently and in a team environment
• Must be able to work weekend and holidays

Preferred Qualifications:

• Animal Husbandry experience
• Public speaking experience

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $16.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16 – 32 per week

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Holidays
• Weekends as needed

Experience:

• Animal husbandry: 1 year (Preferred)
