Gilbert Architects is Hiring a Construction Contract Administrator Near Lancaster, PA

As an Architectural Construction Contract Administrator for Gilbert Architects, you’ll play a pivotal role in overseeing the contractual aspects of construction projects. Your primary responsibility involves administering and managing construction contracts, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, and ensuring that construction is in accordance with the design intent, regulations, and quality standards. You’ll collaborate closely with architects, engineers, contractors, and clients, serving as a liaison to facilitate communication and resolve any contractual disputes or discrepancies.

Responsibilities

  • Administer the Owner/Contractor agreements.
  • Coordinate with all team members to ensure what is constructed is in accordance with the construction agreement and the design intent.
  • Serve as Gilbert Architect’s representative at the construction site.
  • Serve as the primary point of contract for all contractual inquiries and concerns.
  • Facilitate clear and concise communication between architects, contractors, and clients to foster collaboration and mitigate conflicts.
  • Conduct punch list walkthroughs and execute closeout documentation.
  • Conduct job meetings, record and distribute meeting minutes.
  • Review cost change proposals for validity, including cost to ensure pricing is within acceptable and current industry standards.
  • Conduct constructability reviews during the design phase.
  • Track cost expenditures from change orders against contingency and project allowance costs.
  • Review monthly payment requests for accuracy against actual construction completion.
  • Facilitate the review and approval of project submittals and shop drawings for compliance with the project documents.
  • Maintain a record of all field changes.
  • Provide non-production support to the production staff, architects, and project managers.

Qualifications

  • College degree in Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
  • 5 or more years of AEC experience in a project manager, or construction contract administrator role is preferred.
  • Proven experience in contract administration within the construction industry, with a comprehensive understanding of construction contracts, legal frameworks, and industry standards.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex contractual documents and financial data.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong ability to negotiate favorable outcomes.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and precision in contract documentation reporting.
  • Proficiency in project management software, Microsoft Office Suite, and Bluebeam.
