Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Medical Biller to join our team. As a Medical Biller, you will be responsible for accurately coding and billing medical procedures and services to ensure timely reimbursement. Your role will involve working with medical records, utilizing coding systems, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.

At least 2 years of medical billing experience and experience in working with medent software is required.

Duties:

- Review and analyze medical records to determine appropriate codes for diagnoses, procedures, and services

- Assign ICD-9 or ICD-10 codes to ensure accurate billing and reimbursement

- Utilize knowledge of medical terminology and coding systems (e.g., CPT, HCPCS) to accurately assign codes

- Verify patient insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations for procedures

- Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies electronically or via paper submission

- Follow up on unpaid or denied claims and resolve any billing discrepancies or issues

- Collaborate with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients to resolve billing inquiries or disputes

- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines throughout the billing process

- Stay updated on changes in coding guidelines, regulations, and reimbursement policies

Experience:

- Experience with Medent EHR

- Proven experience as a Medical Biller or in a similar role for at least 3 years

- Proficiency in medical coding systems (ICD-9/ICD-10) and billing software

- Familiarity with medical terminology, procedures, and documentation

- Knowledge of insurance guidelines and reimbursement processes

- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in coding and billing practices

- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients

Note: All positions must be paid including internship positions.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $20.36 - $21.45 per hour

Expected hours: 16 – 20 per week
