My client, a well-established, conglomerate of real estate investment, development and property management, headquartered in Tucson, Arizona with a portfolio in excess of 2 million square feet of commercial/retail/office properties, multi-family residential properties, and future development projects in Arizona is seeking a proactive, experienced hands-on accounting manager to join their team. This position reports directly to the Executive Management and is responsible for day-to-day activity of all real estate assets, including retail, office, commercial and multi-family properties. In addition, the accounting manager will work closely with property management, leasing, senior management and clients on a variety of property related activities. The accounting manager will help manage new acquisitions, property sales and construction accounting.

Job Requirements Responsibilities:

• Compile financial statements and portfolios for joint venture and outside Investors

• Daily and monthly cash disbursements and receipts

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations of commercial properties

• Set up and update forecasts and budgets

• Provide management with explanations of material deviations from budget

• Coordinate all accounting activities with in-house property management staff

• Prepare month-end and quarter-end close for each respective property including account reconciliations and financial statements

• Assist with tenant invoicing and monitoring of tenant receivables

• Assist with CAM reconciliations

• Responsible for monthly bank reconciliations

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field required

• QuickBooks experience required

• Property management software (i.e. Yardi) experience preferred

• CPA preferred

• Experience in commercial real estate, property management and construction accounting

• Auditing and tax preparation experience a plus

• Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

• Multi-entity experience preferred

• MS Office advanced computer skills

• Strong problem solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills

• Ability to appropriately handle confidential information

• Outstanding attention to detail and organizational skills

• Strong work ethic a must

• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively including excellent written and oral communication skills

• Ability to work independently and proactively
