Job Summary:
The GRIT Coordinator will play a pivotal role in facilitating the Growing Rural Independence Together (GRIT) program, aimed at empowering individuals in rural communities to pursue their career aspirations and enhance their independence. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills, a passion for community development, and a commitment to supporting individuals in achieving their goals.

Responsibilities:

• Collaboration and Partnership: Work closely with schools, agencies, and other community programs to coordinate the Future Plans Assessment process. Collaborate with stakeholders to identify individuals who would benefit from the GRIT program and ensure seamless referrals.
• Career Coaching: Provide and/or schedule individualized career coaching sessions to program participants, helping them explore career options, assess their skills and interests, and set realistic career goals.
• Career Planning: Assist individuals in developing comprehensive career plans tailored to their aspirations and abilities. Provide guidance on educational and vocational opportunities, training programs, and resources available to support their career development journey.
• Case Management: Conduct thorough assessments to identify any additional needs or challenges faced by program participants. Offer case management services as needed, connecting individuals to relevant resources and support services within the community.
• Community Development: Work collaboratively with community stakeholders to develop and implement the goals and objectives of the GRIT coalition. Organize and facilitate meetings, workshops, and events to engage community members and promote the program's mission.
• Data Management: Maintain accurate records of program participants, including demographic information, assessment results, service utilization, and outcomes achieved. Ensure timely and thorough documentation in the designated reporting system to track program effectiveness and compliance with funding requirements.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in social work, counseling, education, or a related field.
• Experience working in community-based programs, preferably in rural settings.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to establish rapport with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
• Knowledge of career development principles, assessment tools, and resources.
• Familiarity with case management practices and the ability to address the needs of vulnerable populations.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in data management and reporting systems.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
