Job Description:

Position: Learning and Development Director

Reporting to: Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO)

Location: Bentonville, AR (Onsite)

Art and Wellness Enterprises (AWE) is seeking a skilled, highly motivated, and entrepreneurial individual to join the team as a Learning and Development Director. AWE supports operating non-profits founded by AliceWalton including the Alice L. Walton Foundation, Alice L. Walton School of Medicine, Art Bridges, Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, the Momentary, and Heartland Whole Health Institute.

About the Position

AWE is seeking a strategic and experienced Learning and Development Director to lead our organization's efforts in developing a culture of learning, skill development, and professional growth. This role presents a unique opportunity for an individual who thrives in building initiatives from scratch and excels in dynamic environments where creativity and innovation are encouraged.

The candidate will be a strategic partner and will collaborate closely with various stakeholders at Art Wellness Enterprises and the non-profit organizations that it serves to identify training needs, develop learning strategies, and create impactful development initiatives that align with business objectives. The ideal candidate will be passionate about employee development, possess strong leadership skills, and have a proven track record of designing and implementing effective learning programs.

What you will do

Responsibilities

  • Establish strategic partnerships with all entities within the ecosystem to develop and implement a comprehensive learning and development strategy aligned with the company's overall goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with leadership and key stakeholders to conduct thorough needs assessments to identify training needs and prioritize learning opportunities that align with business objectives.
  • Design and deliver engaging and innovative learning programs, including workshops, seminars, online courses, and leadership development initiatives.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of learning initiatives through metrics, feedback, and performance data, and make recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development throughout the organization, encouraging employees at all levels to take ownership of their growth and development.
  • Lead a team of learning and development professionals, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to ensure the successful execution of learning initiatives.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in learning and development, and incorporate relevant advancements into our programs.
  • Manage the learning and development budget, allocating resources effectively to maximize impact and ROI.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications required for your success

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, organizational development, education, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in a leadership role within learning and development.
  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design methodologies, and learning technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement learning strategies that drive employee engagement, performance improvement, and organizational success.
  • Strategic thinker with a results-oriented mindset and a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Preferred certifications: Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP), Certified Professional in Training Management (CPTM), or similar credentials demonstrating expertise in learning and development practices
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills to engage and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong time management skills with proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Experience in LinkedIn Learning and survey tools preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Zoom, and ability to learn new software applications.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment, remaining adaptable and resilient.

  • Physical demands: Position requires utilizing a computer and telephone for prolonged periods of time, good eye/hand coordination, verbal, and written conversation with others, and lifting/carrying up to 10 lbs.
  • Work environment: Work will be performed in an office environment full-time (Monday-Friday, 8AM-5PM.) The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate. Flexibility in working hours, including weekends and evenings, may be necessary to support operational needs.
