We are adding to our team! We seek an experienced Paralegal in our Litigation Group who will support attorneys with full cycle case management duties, such as drafting of complaints and filings, preparing all necessary documents and disclosures, and appeal process. This role requires work before, during and after trial processing in a fast-paced and high-volume work environment.
In this role, you will work in a fast-paced environment and will:​​​​​​

• Drafting pleadings and discovery, preparing for depositions, mediations, and arbitrations, and assisting at trial
• Calculating deadlines to calendar (Responses and replies); how to docket all deadlines provided by Court via Orders/Minute Entries
• Researching legal documents and insurance policies, and analyzing law sources such as statutes, recorded judicial decisions, legal articles, medical codes, understating policies and procedures
• Drafting, proofreading, and editing legal documents, including complaints, pleadings, motions, disclosures, discovery and briefs
• Organizing and maintaining case files, ensuring all documents are organized, up-to-date, and easily accessible. Being able to adhere to the firm standards regarding internal file organization.
  Requesting updated medical records and bills;
  Bate stamping documents during disclosure and trial preparation
  Opening medicare claims, sending lien letters
• Reviewing case mail from opposing counsel making sure correct documents were provided and filed in a timely manner.
• Communicating with clients, witnesses, opposing counsel, and other parties as needed

The successful candidate will have:

• Certification or Associate’s degree in paralegal studies
• Experience in a paralegal role, including an excellent understanding of legal procedures, policies and terminology.
• Minimum of 5 year’s experience as a Paralegal, preferably 3 year’s experience in personal injury law, highly desired.
• Working knowledge legal database software
• Experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe
• Must be able to multi-task, pay close attention to detail
• Excellent communication, organizational and time management skills
• Proactive and self-starter and works well with others
• Prior experience in office administration is highly desired.
• Ability to work in a high-pressure and fast-paced environment, required.
• Fluent in speaking Spanish, highly desired not required.
