JOB OPPORTUNITY:

Our dynamic Company seeks an experienced Captain with a minimum of a 100 Ton License for the NY Waterway Ferry Service located in Weehawken New Jersey

This is a Seafarers International Union position (SIU)

Essential Functions & responsibility:

• 100 Ton license for Ferry Operations
• Perform pre & post trip inspection of the Vessel
• Follow the daily manifest
• Troubleshoot & identify problems which may occur on board the vessel while in operation
• Ensure vessel is ready for service beginning & end of each day
• Organize & participate in drills with crewmembers & assure proper recording of drill all drill activities
• The majority of work is performed in a marine environment in both indoor & outdoor conditions with exposure to various temperatures & weather conditions, along with moderate loud noise
• The Marine operation is subject to varying levels of motion, movement, & vibration

Requirements & Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required
• A valid transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)
• Must be 21 years of age
• Submit & pass DOT/USCG Physical
