Grand Army Bar is a beloved neighborhood cocktail bar and seafood restaurant in Boerum Hill. We are looking for a friendly and motivated food runner to become a part of our front of house team
General Duties and Responsibilities
- Running food and drinks to correct tables and correct seat numbers
- Polishing, bussing, and resetting tables
- Being able to speak knowledgeably about our menu
- Communicating dietary requirements or restrictions to GM and kitchen
- Communicating any issues with tickets to Executive Chef and GM
- Maintaining a visibly calm demeanor at all times regardless of the pace of service
- Opening and closing side work as assigned by GM
- Deep cleaning or organization with team as directed by Executive Chef and GM
- Learn and assiduously follow all Department of Health (DOH) guidelines
Team Expectations
- Adhere to the schedule created by the GM; arrive on time and with a neat, clean appearance
- Be organized; take notes
- Be engaged in continuing staff education around food and beverages
- Be courteous, professional, and kind to guests and employees alike
- Be a proactive self-starter with a keen eye for details and ability to multitask
- Communicate responsibly and maturely; be open about any issues that may arise (internally or with guests) so that we can quash issues early on together
