Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our team. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for operating heavy equipment such as forklifts, reach trucks, cherry pickers, clamp trucks, and cranes to move materials within our warehouse. Your expertise in warehouse management systems and mechanical knowledge will be essential in ensuring the safe and efficient handling of materials.
Pay 18.00
Availability:
Availability to work on weekends. Days off will be during the week only
Availability to work on holidays and blackout dates
Ability to work from 12:00pm until the job is completed (typically by 9:30pm, with the possibility of extending to 12:00am).
Duties:
- Operate various types of forklifts and other heavy equipment to move materials within the warehouse
- Load and unload trucks using forklifts or other equipment
- Safely stack and store materials in designated areas
- Perform routine maintenance checks on forklifts and other equipment
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents or damage to materials
- Utilize warehouse management systems to track inventory and locate materials
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors and team members to ensure smooth operations
Experience:
- Proven experience as a Forklift Operator or similar role
- Proficient in operating various types of forklifts, reach trucks, cherry pickers, clamp trucks, and cranes
- Strong mechanical knowledge to perform routine maintenance checks on equipment
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems for inventory tracking
- Ability to safely handle materials and operate heavy equipment in a fast-paced environment
Requirements:
- Learning how to conduct dock checks before being certified on cherry pickers.
-Dock checking involves unboxing and assembling various furniture items such as dining tables, dressers, nightstands, TV stands, headboards, footboards, chairs, end tables, office chairs, bookcases, and cocktail tables.
- Dock checkers will also be responsible for identifying product damages and ensuring all beds have the necessary hardware, slats, and center supports.
- Valid forklift operator certification
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness
- Ability to lift heavy objects and work in a physically demanding role
- Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
