Description
Responsibilities:
- Schedule patient appointments accurately and efficiently
- Schedules surgical procedures on a daily basis
- Coordinate the patients with appointment times and reschedule, if needed
- Interact with the patient inquiries regarding their appointments and scheduling
- Work closely with the physicians to ensure smooth patient flow and optimize appointment scheduling
- Works with collaborating hospitals and surgeons regarding procedure scheduling
- Interact with insurance companies to obtain authorizations for surgeries
- Retrieve clearance from the patient's PCP or Cardiologist
- Notify the patients of the instructions a day before surgery
- Posts surgical cases on outside EMR systems
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in Medical or Urology surgical scheduling
- Proficient in using office software Allscripts
- Medical Terminology and understanding of medical records
- Attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organization skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
