Summary of Work

This position will support and manage agency data collection operations in support of the agency water resource management functions. This includes manually collecting data as well as operating the DWR's custom built electronic PRESENS data loggers. PRESENS is an acronym for Pushing REmote SENSors. The PRESENS loggers are constantly collecting valuable water resource data needed for sound scientific decision-making on water development, planning, and appropriation. This position will report to the Field Technician Manager and support the current team of field technicians by learning and performing each position's duties.

Minimum Qualifications

• Requires successful completion of high school or GED.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and be able and willing to travel during weekdays to include overnight hotel stays.
• Attention to detail and the ability to create repeatable results.
• Must be able to work in various weather conditions and terrains.
• The ability to troubleshoot and overcome problems as they arise.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience operating handheld or desktop electronic multimeters to measure voltage and current.
• Experience with collecting water samples or performing other scientific measurements.
