Diabetic Foot Solutions is Hiring a Nurse Practitioner Near Orem, UT

We have a visionary, high growth Advanced Wound Center and Diabetic Lower Extremity practice. We are looking for an excellent Nurse Practitioner who seeks an opportunity to use his or her stellar skills in collaboration with the rest of our team as we take our vision to the next level.

You would have an opportunity to work with a wonderful, talented doctor and staff, in a supportive environment that is also fast paced and best-in-class.

The majority of our patient population is geriatric and diabetic. Our ideal Nurse Practitioner is experienced with this population and has a passion for caring for these individuals. Our ideal Nurse Practitioner also has particular expertise with wound care, neuropathy and diabetic lower extremity care, although that is not a requirement for the right person. Bonus points if you are skilled in vascular screening and care.

We are looking for a Nurse Practitioner whose commitment to the absolute best in patient care is unparalleled. Excellent communication skills and bedside manner are a must. The right Nurse Practitioner for our practice will be willing to commit to this position long term, and has the capacity to grow with a fast-growing medical practice.

Responsibilities

  • In clinic care such as:
  • Diabetic lower extremity risk assessments
  • Nail and callus debridement
  • Neuropathy care
  • Wound care, including in clinic surgical debridement
  • Infection management
  • Swelling management
  • Screening for vascular issues
  • Educating patients on diabetic lower extremity concerns
  • Training clinical staff on appropriate in clinic procedures
  • Coordinating with doctor and medical staff to provide top-notch patient care
  • Advising patients regarding treatment plans.
  • Following all federal, state, and nursing guidelines, regulations, and standards
  • Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, including x-rays, blood work, and scans
  • Referring patients to specialists if necessary and analyzes medical records and reports
  • Collaborating with other medical care providers
  • Updating patient charts and uploading to Electronic Health Record (EHR) software.
  • Examining patients, including discussing medical history and symptoms and performing physicals.
  • Knowing how to use popular tools, including: medical database software, medical research software, medical diagnosis software, medical billing software, e-prescribing software, scheduling software, billing software, and telemedicine software

Skills

  • Knowledge of medical office management systems and procedures
  • Excellent bedside manner
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
  • Social perceptiveness and service oriented
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Education/Qualifications

  • Nurse Practitioner and Registered Nurse licenses in the state of Utah
  • Board certification as a Nurse Practitioner in the specialty is preferred
  • National board certification as a Nurse Practitioner from an accredited agency
  • Master’s in Nursing required, Doctorate of Nursing preferred
  • Two or more years of clinical experience as a nursing practitioner at a physician practice or in a hospital with a related specialty is strongly preferred

Experience

  • 2 years as a Nurse Practitioner specializing in wound care and/or vascular care preferred

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $60.00 - $70.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 30 per week
