MRA Group is Hiring a Director of Accounting - Commercial Real Estate Near Horsham, PA

Job Description

Our Director of Accounting is responsible for leading the Property Accounting team in all facets of accounting for our healthcare and life-science real estate portfolios. This is a great opportunity to be a part of a team supporting our complex clients who requires detailed reporting and analysis.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide oversight and leadership to the Property Accounting Team
  • Support the Leadership Team with reporting, financial updates and special assignments
  • Oversight and responsibility for all property/portfolio financial accounting activities
  • Responsible monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting packages
  • Prepare and maintain all financial statements
  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations
  • Prepare monthly variance analysis
  • Perform monthly, quarterly and annual closings
  • Prepare month end re-classes, prepaid re-classed and accrual journal entries
  • Prepare monthly management fee reconciliations
  • Review and process a high volume of monthly capital expenditures
  • Assist in annual budget process, utilizing specialized software programs
  • Assist in annual CAM reconciliations
  • Ensure timely payment of insurance and real estate taxes and record properly
  • Work in collaboration with the Asset Management Team
  • Involvement in property forecasts
  • Provide training and mentorship to the Property Accounting Team as needed

Requirements for this Role

This position requires a dynamic accounting professional who can work independently and as a team player, prioritize tasks, is highly organized, detailed oriented and comfortable handling rapidly shifting priorities in an extremely fast-paced environment. Consistently meeting aggressive deadlines and delivering top-quality work product is a must.

  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting required
  • A minimum of 5 years of commercial real estate accounting experience
  • Must be organized, concise, detailed, flexible, and efficient
  • Must possess strong interpersonal skills and an ability to work and communicate effectively with all levels of management
  • Must be a team player with a willingness to work outside the core business hours as needed
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) is required
  • Proficiency in Yardi is preferred
  • Responsiveness – Need to perform responsibilities with an acute sense of urgency to meet the needs of others; respond to solve problems; willing to accept a variety of tasks
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to listen to the needs of others and present issues and recommendations
  • Unquestionable ethics and integrity
  • Team player with a positive attitude

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $85,000.00 per year
