Description

The Denver Waldorf School (DWS) is seeking a qualified candidate for the part-time position (30 hours/week) of In-House Substitute Teacher and Substitution Coordinator for the 2024-25 school year. The Substitute Coordinator will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our school by managing substitute teacher assignments and maintaining effective communication with staff, substitutes, and administrators. This position also requires 3 days per week substituting in classrooms, as needed.

Requirements

Responsibilities:

• Perform substitute teacher responsibilities 3 days per week, as needed.
• Coordinate substitute teacher assignments for daily absences and long-term leaves.
• Maintain an updated database of substitute teachers, including contact information and availability.
• Communicate with teachers and administrators regarding substitute needs and assignments.
• Provide orientation and support to substitute teachers, including familiarizing them with school policies and procedures.
• Respond promptly to substitute teacher inquiries and concerns.
• Monitor substitute teacher performance and provide feedback as needed.
• Collaborate with the HR department to ensure substitute teacher compliance with licensing and certification requirements.
• Assist in the recruitment and onboarding of new substitute teachers as needed.
• Perform other administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Previous teaching experience preferred.
• Previous experience in education administration or coordination role preferred.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexibility and adaptability to changing needs and priorities.
