Sharonview Standard Brand is Hiring a Default Specialist II Near Indian, SC

Sharonview is looking for a detail-oriented Default Specialist II to carry out responsibilities under the Credit Union's policies, regulations, and applicable laws while working with internal departments and vendors, such as legal counsel, contractors, realtors, etc., to protect the Credit Union’s assets.

Hybrid Position

Salary Range: $42,900- $49,312

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Monitor systems performance to ensure the accuracy of transactions, account information, and payment processing related to collection activity and to ensure the efficient and effective integration of those systems.
  • Prepare and initiate procedures for judgments, repossessions, foreclosures, bankruptcy, insurance, and title claims
  • Assist with the liquidation of assets recovered and facilitate repayments in an accurate, timely manner
  • Prepare reports on delinquent accounts, losses, charge-offs, repossessions, real estate owned (REO), and recoveries as requested by management.
  • Handle member calls or other parties with limited direction regarding late payments, payment issues, negative share repayments, promises to pay, estates, settlements, collection agency accounts, or information needed to facilitate the collection of loans or liquidate assets.
  • Manage expenses related to areas of recovery such as judgments, repossessions, foreclosures, bankruptcy, etc.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 2 years of related experience with asset recovery or an equivalent combination of education and work experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Repossession, Bankruptcy, Foreclosure, and/or legal (judgment) processing experience is required.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills, with an outgoing, friendly personality. Information can be exchanged in person, in writing, by telephone, or by e-mail with a wide variety of people, both internally and externally. Active Listening: giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
  • Proficiency with a variety of computer software applications, including MS Word and MS Outlook.
  • Ability to work well with people and to create a self-motivating work environment. Developing constructive and cooperative working relationships with others and maintaining them over time; trustworthy, caring, and empathetic.
  • Strong organizational skills, high level of accuracy, and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Negotiation or persuading others to change their minds or behavior. Social Perceptiveness - being aware of others' reactions and understanding why they react as they do. Adjusting actions in relation to others' actions.

Physical Demands

  • Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing.
  • Light work that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds.
  • Work requires the ability to speak and hear consistently.
  • Communicate with others to exchange information via voice, email, teams, etc.
  • Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.
  • Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
  • Heavy use of computers.
