Campus Compact for New Hampshire (CCNH) is a nonprofit higher education consortium that works to improve learning and strengthen communities by integrating service and civic responsibility throughout college life.

New Hampshire College & University Council (NHCUC) The New Hampshire College & University Council (NHCUC) is a nonprofit consortium of colleges and universities that collaborate to expand education opportunities across the state.

CCNH and NHCUC collaborate with other community and business partners to administer high-impact initiatives such as GEAR UP, New Hampshire Scholars, and AmeriCorps VISTA. These and other initiatives help students succeed in school while providing millions of dollars in services in areas like education, environmental sustainability, health care, poverty, food insecurity, and more.

The Opportunity:

Campus Compact for New Hampshire is seeking a Family Engagement Project Coordinator to work with families in Manchester.

Scope of Work: Reporting to the Project Director of the Statewide Family Engagement Center (SFEC), the Family Engagement Project Coordinator will work with community and school partners to implement SFEC activities in local communities. They will also work individually with families and educators to identify ways to remove barriers to family engagement and ensure families have equitable access to supports including academic, social emotional, and health supports.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect data and feedback from all community initiatives and events to inform outcomes of the overall project.
  • Collaborate with Project Director to deliver training and professional development programming for families, educators, and community groups focused on Dual Capacity Framework, Cradle to Career family involvement and Parent Nation.
  • Work with parents and families to identify and eliminate barriers for children.
  • Connect with community partners to promote opportunities for collaboration.
  • Assist with coordination and support of Statewide Family Engagement work groups, events, and initiatives both in Manchester and across NH. Build and maintain collaborative partnerships with community organizations, educators, and families across Manchester to ensure program success.
  • Other duties as assigned to support the mission of the NH-SFEC and Campus Compact for NH.

  • Regular data entry - compiling records of services
  • Expand community partner relationships
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

Education Requires a Bachelor's degree from a recognized college or university with a major study in counseling, education, liberal arts, general studies or a related field. Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience.

Experience: Three years of experience in an educational setting preferred, with experience in teaching, academic advising or counseling and the responsibility of providing program information to others.

License/Certification: Valid Driver's License or access to transportation required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong written oral and communication skills
  • Experience with advising, counseling, higher education, mentoring, and/or partnership development.
  • Three years of experience providing direct services to families and children.
  • Three years of experience in providing training to educators and/or families
  • Experience in effectively working with rural and/or under-served schools, families, and communities.

Recommended Work Traits:

Experience in counseling secondary school students or programming experience with students and/or families; knowledge of NH resources for students and counselors; direct experience working with underrepresented students; excellent interpersonal skills; proficiency with data base management and report writing; interact effectively with a diverse group of faculty, staff, students, parents, and partners. Ability to make sound judgments in appraising situations and making routine decisions. Ability to follow specific instructions in gathering facts, data, or resources in organizing required information. Must be willing to maintain appearance appropriate to assigned duties and responsibilities as determined by the college appointing authority.

Location:

This position is a hybrid remote and in-person role serving Manchester, NH with occasional travel around NH and outside the state for conferences and trainings.

Typical Work Schedule:

This position is a twelve-month position with flexibility based on families' needs, events, and meetings. A typical schedule is Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm.

Salary:

The salary for the Family Engagement Coordinator is $50,000-55,000.
