Job Title: Club Houseman Reports to: Club Housekeeping Manager Department: Club Housekeeping Location: The Union League of Philadelphia (140 S Broad St, Philadelphia, PA 19102) Description: The Houseman position is responsible for assisting the housekeeping department and overseeing the maintenance and care of the guestrooms and general hotel premises. This individual demonstrates a professional, friendly, warm, and welcoming demeanor to all guests and employees. Must be detail-oriented, able to lift heavy items and understand cleaning basics. Responsibilities:
Operates various mechanized cleaning equipment, such as vacuums, polishers, buffers, etc.
Organizes and restocks housekeeping closets and floor landings with supplies and linen
Removes dirty linen or trash from each floor
Must handle various cleaning solvents, chemicals, etc.
Assists in keeping the lobby area clean and neat
Walk all floors each morning and throughout the day to collect any trash or linen
Helps the housekeeping team with heavy lifting or special cleaning projects as directed
Assists in placing cots in appropriate fashion per standard operating procedures
Reports missing/found items or damaged goods to Housekeeping Manager
Dust furniture, light fixtures, windowsills, in common spaces such as the hallways and lobby floor
Keep the elevators clean and free of dust or debris
Communicate with front desk regarding any guest issue or requests
Check entire area for spills, water, etc.
Attend staff training sessions and meetings as needed
Complete special projects outlined by the housekeeping manager
Skills and Requirements:
Requires the ability to lift, carry, walk, sit, push, pull and work a flexible schedule; must be able to move continuously during work hours and able to lift and/or carry 25 pounds.
High school diploma or equivalent
2-year experience in the customer service industry
Able to safely handle and use cleaning chemicals
Desire and willingness to work as a team within the Inn and other departments
Personal maturity, sound judgement, motivation, and integrity
