Rehab Group, a leader in the rehabilitation community, is seeking an experienced medical office multi-duty receptionist / billing and coding specialist for our outpatient physical therapy clinic in Morristown, TN. Responsibilities for Receptionist: (List does not include all duties assigned)

• Greets patients and checks-in patients, verifies and updates necessary information in the medical records/database, performs all registration functions and collects copays and balances due as appropriate.
• Is customer service oriented. Understands insurance (pre-certs, benefits, referral needs, etc)
• Maintains computerized scheduling and follows office scheduling policies.
• Files charts and coordinates paperwork as requested.
• Answers and screens telephone calls, takes messages, and provides appropriate information to phone callers as well as handling outgoing phone calls as appropriate (e.g., appointment confirmations, referral calls, pre-certs, etc.)
• Assists with charge entry, and /or coding issues, and other related work if requested.
• Knowledge of medical office procedures.
• Knowledge of spelling, grammar and punctuation needed to process patient information along with the ability to file materials correctly by alphabetic or numeric processes.
• Knowledge of computer systems and applications.

Responsibilities for Billing/Coding Specialist: This role will include duties encompassing all areas of practice management such as retrieving old AR, resubmitting corrected claims, insurance verification, prior authorizations, and identifications of opportunities within the practice to ensure both clinics continue to be successful as we continue on our path of growth. Experience in medical billing required. Coding certifications are a plus, but not a requirement. Other duties to include general ICD-10 to CPT mapping, claim submissions, denial management, general advice and feedback to the provider team to ensure all aspects of the revenue cycle are handled timely and effectively.

Pay: $8.00 - $16.00 per hour

Education:

• High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Experience:

• ICD 10: 1 year (Preferred)
• CPT coding: 1 year (Preferred)
• AR retrieval: 1 year (Preferred)
• Medical receptionist: 1 year (Required)
• Prior authorizations: 1 year (Preferred)
• Insurance verification/benefits: 1 year (Preferred)
• EMR systems: 1 year (Preferred)
