Dental Assistant II

About the Job:

The Smile Shop is a growing, privately owned, general dentistry practice located in RTP that prioritizes quality patient care. We are currently seeking a full time dental assistant II to join our dynamic team. Our team is busy and system-oriented. The practice is very team-driven with an emphasis on collaboration versus working solo. We offer a friendly, caring work atmosphere, a flexible three to five-day work week along with competitive pay and benefits.

Primary Job Duties Include:

• Assist with dental treatment as instructed
• Take and record dental histories and patient records
• Prepare instruments; clean treatment areas; sterilize equipment
• Front Office Support, including greeting patients, answering phones, scheduling, maintaining files, as needed
• Responsible for patient flow, keeping treatment rooms neat and organized
• Instruct patients in oral hygiene
• Possess a current radiograph and coronal polishing certifications

• Prefer a certificate in nitrous oxide training
• Demonstrate a commitment to ongoing professional development
• Prioritize patient rapport and outstanding customer service
• Show a strong respect for all of your coworkers, regardless of position
• Are willing to abide by the practice’s protocols for patient care, room set up, and equipment sterilization
• Have a thorough understanding of the importance of taking dental histories and maintaining accurate patient records
• Have experience providing front office support, such as greeting patients, answering phones, scheduling, and maintaining patient records
• Can readily take instruction from the treating provider, and can adapt to different styles and requirements within a multi-provider practice

Your history likely shows:

• 1-2 years’ experience in a dental practice
• Strong organizational and administrative skills
• Ability to multi-task, take initiative and anticipate needs of others
• Ability to project a positive, warm and professional image in person and on the phone

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $23.00 - $30.00 per hour

Experience:

• Dental assisting: 2 years (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• Coronal Polish Certificate (Required)
