The C.W. Williams Community Health Center, Inc. is expanding and seeking an experienced Medical Biller/Coder to join our finance team.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical billing and coding with the skills necessary to improve our billing and coding processes.

RESPONSIBILITES:

• Review billing cycle for accuracy
• Comply with all legal requirements regarding coding procedures and practices
• Conduct audits and coding reviews to ensure all documentation is accurate and precise
• Assign and sequence all codes for services rendered
• Contact physicians and other health care professionals with questions about treatments or diagnostic tests given to patients with regard to coding procedures
• Insurance accounts receivable follow up. This would include investigating denied, underpaid and overpaid claims and doing appeals.
• Reconcile customer disputes as they pertain to payment of outstanding balances that are due. Provide excellent & considerate customer service to patients.
• Take accountability for personal productivity and quality output.
• Any other tasks required to continue or maintain the billing process.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

• Associates (2 year degree) or Certification preferred.
• Minimum three (3) years medical coding and billing experience.
• Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR), experience with Athena a plus..
• Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT 4 codes and procedures.
• Proficient skills in computer programs including medical management software, Athena a plus.
• Skill in computer and spreadsheet applications.
• Excellent Communications skills oral and written.
• Ability to read, understand and explain insurance EOBs
