As we continue to rapidly grow, we have a career opportunity available for a talented and motivated individual to join our Taylor Farms New Jersey team as the Procurement Buyer for Ingredients, located in Swedesboro, New Jersey.

About the Role:

The Procurement Buyer will report into the Procurement Manager, the Buyer for ingredients is primarily responsible to ensure that the correct amount of ingredients are on hand to support the dynamic production schedule required by our operation. Ingredients include Proteins, Grocery, & Dairy. There are roughly six hundred current ingredients at TFNJ.

The Procurement Buyer will work closely with the Sales & Marketing Team, Product Development Team, and Operations Teams to design an improved system for the delivery of ingredients to the operation as close to just in time as possible. The role will require understanding of minimum order quantities, order lead-time, shelf life, and forecasted demand.

Job Responsibilities:

• Determine economic order quantities based upon manufacturers’ required order lead-time and minimum orders.
• Place daily & weekly replenishment orders for required categories, follow thru with order confirmations, and close out received orders.
• Request detailed product specifications from new vendors and/or current vendors that are supplying new ingredients.
• Work with our Cost Accounting Team to create new items in our Item Master in AX.
• Work with our Sales & Marketing Team to manage inbound ingredients required to support new product launches, discontinued items, and promotional activity.

Experience, Skills and Abilities:

• 3-5 years of Procurement experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
• Detail oriented is a must.
• Self-motivated to follow thru on assigned tasks and projects.
• Able to work well with and support other departments.
• Strong time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• 3 – 5 years of experience in a Food Industry/Manufacturing environment preferred.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook required.
• Experience with utilizing an ERP system required.
• Past inventory management experience highly preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $49,144.21 - $59,184.42 per year
