Job Title: Academic Interventionist K-5
Exemption Status/Test: Exempt
Reports to: Principal
Dept./School: Elementary campus
The Academic Intervention Teacher, under the supervision of the Principal, is responsible for delivering supplemental instructional intervention for students identified as at-risk according to state and local criteria.
1. Provide academic intervention to eligible students who are experiencing difficulties in core subject areas, serving those in most need first.
2. Assist in identifying eligible students in need of core curriculum intervention.
3. Collaborate with parents and families, campus administrators, counselors, and teachers regarding student progress.
4. Monitor and report progress of students served
5. Meet with core content content teachers as needed.
6. Utilize a flexible schedule to maximize service to identified students.
7. Serve on RTI/MTSS, ARD, 504, and other campus committees as needed.
8. Participate in professional growth activities.
9. Perform other duties as required by campus principal
10. Perform other duties as assigned.
Tools/Equipment Used: Personal computer and peripherals; standard instructional equipment
Posture: Prolonged sitting; frequent standing, kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting
Motion: Frequent walking
Lifting: Regular light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds); move small stacks of textbooks, media equipment, desks, and other classroom equipment
Environment: Work inside, may work outside
Mental Demands: Maintain emotional control under stress; may work prolonged or irregular hours. Daily attendance and punctuality at work are essential functions of the job.
