Jewish for Good serves as the vibrant hub where everyone belongs, nourishing the roots of local Jewish life. We are located in the Levin JCC at 1937 West Cornwallis Road, Durham, North Carolina, 27705.
This role creates music experiences within three of our program offerings:
· The Lerner Elementary School (Kindergarten-5th Grade)
· The Early Childhood Learning Center (Birth through 5 years old)
· The Norma and Robert Gindes Adult Day Program
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Music Experience Facilitator is a part-time, salaried position (30 hours per week). This role is responsible for the development and implementation of music education and experiences which include singing, moving to music, playing and listening to instruments utilizing curriculum and best practices for these diverse populations.
This is a year-round Faculty and Staff position.
This reports to the Principal of the Lerner Elementary School; which works in collaboration with the ECLC Director and the Director of Senior Programs.

Elementary School (Monday’s and Wednesday’s 7:15am-3:15pm):
Early Childhood Learning Center (Tuesday’s and Thursday’s 9:30am-11:30pm):
Adult Day Center:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
· Bachelor's degree in related field
· Strong vocal and instrumental skills, including piano accompaniment
· Experience building and implementing curriculum
· A minimum of three years teaching experience
· Excellent knowledge of child development
· An understanding of the aging process and the role music can play specifically for adults experiencing memory loss
· Embraces differentiation of instruction to meet the individual needs of individuals
· Must be detail oriented with strong organizational abilities, written and verbal communication skills, analytical skills, and patience’s!
· Positive approach to work, with ability to work independently as well as in a team setting
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
· Bachelor's degree in Music, Music Education, or Music Therapy
· Experience teaching/facilitating music for both young children and adults
