POSITION DESCRIPTION
Lawn Care Technician
Job Summary:
Landscape or maintain grounds of property using hand or power tools or equipment. Workers typically perform a variety of tasks, which may include any combination of the following: sod laying, mowing, trimming, planting, watering, fertilizing, digging, raking, and mulching.
Position Tasks:
Position Activities:
Performing General Physical Activities – Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting.
Controlling Machines and Processes – Using either control mechanisms or direct physical activity to operate machines or processes (not including computers or vehicles). Ex. Chain saws, hand or power tools, and power mowers.
Inspecting Equipment – Inspecting equipment to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.
Organizing, Planning, and Prioritizing Work – Developing specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish your work.
Making Decisions and Solving Problems – Analyzing information and evaluating results to choose the best solution and solve problems. Ex. Resolve landscaping problems.
Communication – Providing information to managers and co-workers by telephone, email, or in person. Also communicating with people outside the organization, representing REC Lawns to customers, the public, and other external sources.
Establishing and Maintaining Interpersonal Relationships – Develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others, and maintaining them over time.
Documenting Information – Writing information received from customers and also recording time in and out at each job site.
Assisting and Caring for Others – When out working, you are to assist you co-worker with medical attention if necessary contact 911 emergency.
Repairing and Maintaining Equipment – Servicing (sharpening blades and changing oil), repairing, tuning, and testing equipment to be sure that they operate properly.
