Hours for this position could be between:
Monday, Wednesday, Friday: 5am - 9pm
Tuesday, Thursday: 5am - 7pm
Saturday: 9am - 5pm
Possible responsibilities include greeting and assisting customers, answering questions, performing point of sale transactions, daily reporting, cash handling, assisting at the concession stand, participation in recreation programs, assisting with special events, maintaining a clean, safe and presentable area for the customers in the lobby area of the pool.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED:Works under the supervision of the Aquatics Center Manager
SUPERVISION EXERCISED:Job has no responsibility for the direction or supervision of others.Receives the public and answers questions; responds to inquiries from employees, customers and others and refers, when necessary to appropriate persons.
Communicates politely and effectively with customers and other employees. Receives and distributes mail and packages to appropriate persons. Answers inquiries or directs phone calls to appropriate parties throughout the City.
Provides customer service to walk-in and telephone customers; receives payments via credit card; directs customers and/or callers to appropriate internal individuals; answers routine questions and provides customers with requested forms, information, and/or paperwork
Maintains a clean and organized work area.
Registers customers for programs; Collects money for aquatic programs and goods; Inputs all transactions in point of sale or registration system.
Performs all duties in strict compliance with appropriate safety and security standards. Ensures all applicable safety and health rules and regulations are followed.
Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service. Participates in the accomplishment of organizational, departmental and workgroup goals and objectives
Performs other duties of a similar nature or level as assigned
PERIPHERAL DUTIES: Serves on various employee or other committees as assignedEducation and Experience:
- Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. Must be at least 16 years of age.
Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
1. Knowledge of computers, point of sale system and multi-line telephone
2. Knowledge of cash handling
3. The ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, establish/maintain successful working relationships, work under pressure with frequent interruptions and with upset customers.
4. Conflict Resolution, listening, multi-tasking, promoting process improvement, problem solving, thoroughness, quality focus 1. Valid Arizona Driver’s License or ability to obtain within six (6) months of employment
2. Incumbents in this position are frequently required to work varied shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays
