Metro Family Physicians is Hiring a Care Team Associate Near San Diego, CA
The Care Team supports our practice by completing all phases of patient registration and maintaining effective provider schedules. The primary focus of the Care Team is to provide excellent patient care when scheduling or contacting the office via telephone. The Care Team always protects patient and employee confidentiality.
Provides appropriate, direct patient care in assigned areas.
Demonstrates a courteous, respectful and helpful attitude when working with patients.
Demonstrates sensitivity to patient’s comfort and privacy and expresses interest in their progress.
Provides health care instructions to patient and family members.
Follow employee and nursing policy/procedure manuals and adhere to HIPAA and OSHA regulations.
Ensures accurate maintenance of patient’s medical records and that patient records are treated as confidential information.
Provides a warm telephonic greeting to all patients.
Schedules appointments, reschedules appointments based on changes made to the physician’s schedule, and confirms scheduled appointments.
Handles all incoming phone calls and exercises judgment as to the urgency of the nature of the call, directs calls to the appropriate personnel.
Documents patient transactions, insurance interactions and phone conversations.
Cooperates with other personnel to achieve department objectives and maintain positive employee relations.
Maintains a clean and organized area and ensures supplies are appropriately stocked.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent certification required.
Medical Assistant Certificate or CPR Certification preferred.
Competencies & Success Factors
Knowledge of medical terminology and HIPPA regulations.
Knowledge of OSHA and Cal-OSHA safety and hazard regulations.
Knowledge of medical insurances.
Experience in providing patient care to newborns, children, adolescents, and adults.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
The ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
Thorough and organized with patient care and file maintenance.
Ability to maintain a calm manner and patience when working with patients, employees, and physicians.
