Medical Assistant needed for a Health Center in Santa Monica, California.Schedule:Monday - Friday. Shifts can be within the timeframe of 6:45am - 6:00pm.$27.00 per hour; Thirteen-week contract assignment.Required Qualifications:Medical Assistant Certificate/Diploma from a DAPIP accredited program OR national certification through AAMA, AMCA, AMT, CCBMA, or MMCI.Experience with medical insurance, referral processes, and benefit plansDemonstrated ability to prepare patients for examination by performing preliminary physical tests, taking blood pressure, weight, and temperature, and reporting patient history summaries1 year working as an MA in an outpatient clinic or medical office settingProficiency with blood/lab draws and venipunctureExperience with would care and cast carePreferred Qualifications:2 years working as a MA in OrthopedicsExperience with CS-Link/EpicExperience with Quest Diagnostic laboratory submissionsPhlebotomy certificationUnderstanding of medical terminologyExperience with removing suturesJob Duties:Greet patients, take appropriate vital signs, review current meds and record in medical recordAssist with tracking and monitoring department specific dataExplain policies, procedures, or services to patients based on scope of practiceSet up exam/procedure rooms appropriate to the patient visit needsClean and re-process equipment and supplies following department guidelinesAdminister immunizations, injections, or oral medications as directed by providerDraw and prepare designated lab work or specimens as directed by providerNOTE: These statements describe the primary duties and responsibilities of the job and are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all tasks.
