Harley-Davidson of Jonesboro is currently looking for a Motorcycle Technician who has a passion for Harley-Davidson motorcycles. The ideal candidate should have strong attention to detail, a good work ethic, and some technical training, background, or experience. Additionally, the candidate should be driven to achieve personal goals while also working effectively as a part of a team. Preferably, the candidate should have completed Motorcycle Mechanics Institute (MMI) or possess a certificate from another motorcycle mechanics trade school. Harley-Davidson Technician Certification a Plus!
The pay rate will be a flat rate per billed hour and will vary based on experience level.
Qualifications & Job Requirements:
-Completion of a motorcycle mechanic training program or equivalent work experience.
-Knowledge and familiarity with servicing and repairing of Harley-Davidson motorcycles.
- Service Technicians needs their own basic tools to begin.
-Valid in-state driver’s license with Motorcycle endorsement and a driving record meeting insurance company guideline.
-Must be able to work full-time, Tues-Fri 9:00am-5:30pm, Sat 9:00am-4:00pm
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
-Repair, customize, and maintain, both customer and dealer owned motor vehicles as close to the allotted time schedule as possible with excellent quality.
-Provide prompt, dependable, high quality, motorcycle service to (internal & external) customers. Complete repair work within the scheduled or allotted time whenever possible. Continually improve this “efficiency” skill.
-Maintain monthly technical (PHD and other) qualification by completing any necessary training programs assigned to you by the Service Manager
-Accept work assignments from Service Advisor.
-Ensure complete, accurate, and detailed paperwork with each job/work order.
-Maintain a clean, efficient, and orderly work area.
Physical Demands:
-Frequently required to bend, stoop, crouch, reach, and handle tools.
-Frequently requires the ability to lift 50 lb. of material.
-Frequently requires the ability to balance and push a 800 lb. motorcycle.
Working Conditions:
-Is potentially exposed to battery acid, gasoline, chemical cleaning materials or other toxic materials commonly found in a motor vehicle service department.
-Occasionally, exposed to exhaust fumes or other airborne particles.
