On Top of the World Clearwater is Hiring a Spray Technician I Near Clearwater, FL

The Spray Technician position assists the Spray team in the fertilization, weed control, and pest control of the shrubbery, ornamentals, lawns and landscaped areas of the property. This position assists ensures that the company quality work practices and standards are up held and that all regulatory agency guidelines are followed. The Spray Technician conducts documented periodic quality inspections, in accordance with company standards of all grounds areas. The Spray Technician may have contact with the residents and professional conduct is extremely important.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The following statements describe the principal functions of this position and the scope of responsibility, but should not be considered an all-inclusive listing of work requirements. Individuals may be expected to perform other duties as assigned, including working in other areas to cover absences or balance the workload. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
  • Weed control on building parking lots, roadways, curb lines, assigned ditches, and walkways utilizing weed control products. Treating all assigned areas of property with company approved ant control products
  • Applying Moisture Manager and conducting various “water-ins” as needed
  • Documenting problem areas and recording the information for the Spray Technician II for treatment
  • Prioritizes and completes work orders as assigned
  • Keeping a daily log of all areas treated and applications used
  • Attending all safety meetings 
  •  Aiding with other positions in the department and the enlisting cross training as needed.
  • Helping in emergency situations in whatever duties as needed.
  • Performing other tasks as needed when requested by superintendents or managers. 
  • Keeping vehicle clean, neat and serviced.
In addition to the responsibilities described above, the role may include such other responsibilities and duties as assigned from time to time, based upon OTOW LLC needs or requirements. 
  • Performs other duties as necessary.
  • Responsible for compliance to company policies and directives.
  • Professional manner, discretion, and appearance are expected.
  • Reports any incident or accident immediately to their supervisor. Informs of any issues.
  • Punctuality and Attendance are significant job reliabilities.
  •  Maintain clean and orderly work environment.
Special Considerations:
The Spray Technician is in a front line position that deals with residents and guests on a regular basis. Customer Service, respect and diplomacy are stressed at all times. The appearance, actions and words of this person will determine how the resident views the rest of the company. This position will conduct themselves at all times, in a professional manner, as a representative of Parkway Maintenance.
This position requires working in the proximity of residents. Any appearance of favoritism or inappropriate behavior must be avoided. Inappropriate behavior is defined as, but not limited to:
  • Acceptance of gifts or cash.
  • Transportation of furniture, groceries, or other materials for residents.
  • Holding keys of other personal property for residents.
  • Arguing with residents.
  • Entry into resident’s home without prior notification of superintendent or manager.
  • Acting in any manner that appears to favor or creates an advantage for one resident over another.
Qualifications (Education, Experience, Technical Skills)
  • High School Diploma, GED or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
  • Minimum of 1 year of Landscaping experience.
  • Experience with chemical or spray applications preferred..
  • Experience with landscaping techniques such as hedge trimming, pruning preferred.
  • Experience with and knowledge of all tools and equipment used in applications of chemicals preferred.
  • Knowledge of safety practices that must be employed.
  •  Strong time management skills.
Working Conditions
The working conditions described are typical of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of the job. Typical assignments frequently require that work be outdoors. This position is regularly exposed to wet or humid conditions. Exposure to high temperatures (95 degrees and above), low temperatures (32 degrees and below) and a variety of weather conditions is common. The typical noise level is moderate to very loud.
Physical Requirements
Physical demands are those of a property management environment. While performing the duties of this job, the individual will be required to frequently push, pull, bend, stand, walk, and to lift up to fifty pounds; occasionally reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, smell; will regularly be required use hands to finger, handle, feel, twist and side bend. Vision requirements are close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Review Physical and Communication matrix below.
