Performance Responsibilities as Special Education Director
1. Supervises and coordinates education classroom programs that include special
education students and staff.
2. Evaluates and coordinates policies and programs essential to the needs of
exceptional children.
3. Coordinates the procedures for placement, evaluation, assignment, and reappraisal
of students with regard to the special education services program
4. Supervises and coordinates home instruction services.
5. Assumes responsibility for compiling, maintaining, and filing all reports, records,
and other documents legally required or administratively useful.
6. Evaluates on an ongoing basis, the total special education program, curriculum,
procedures, and individual students’ needs and achievements.
7. Coordinates educational programs with other schools, agencies or service centers
and consults with parents of students enrolled in the program.
8. Participate in the planning and implementation of special education staff
development.
9. Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities related to the
special education program that may be assigned by the superintendent.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $300.00 - $350.00 per day
Expected hours: No more than 30 per week
