The Korean-American Family Service Center, Inc. is Hiring a Volunteer Management Manager Near Flushing, NY

Position: Volunteer Management Manager
Status: Non-exempt, Full-Time
Reports to: Director of Community Engagement

The Korean-American Family Service Center, Inc. (KAFSC) is a leading non-profit organization assisting survivors of gender-based violence in the New York tri-state area in recognizing and eliminating relationship violence and abuse. Our counseling, education, advocacy, and support services help individuals empower themselves to build safe and healthy relationships based on mutual respect and dignity. Each year, over 3,000 individuals benefit from one or more services that we provide. All our services are culturally sensitive, linguistically appropriate, and free.

KAFSC seeks a person to work with the Director of Community Engagement and other team members to contribute to multiple projects that include adult volunteer and youth volunteer recruiting, plan outreaches, support and manage volunteers and youths, and internal/external reporting. The Volunteer Management Manager will work across multiple projects to be the bridge between the community and KAFSC.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
As the Volunteer Management Manager your responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Understand KAFSC's mission and plan and assist the community outreach team to educate and promote the mission to the community
  • Assist both Director of Community Engagement and Executive Director in various projects
  • Manage and assist activities including attending meetings, post-reporting, data entry and other related tasks
  • In collaborations with Community Outreach Manager, plan and implement community outreach activities and education events to train high-level volunteer/advocates and community members
  • Plan and manage volunteer and youth recruitment, outreach including street canvassing, and training activities
  • Plan and coordinate KAFSC’s Domestic Violence Volunteer Training multiple times a year
  • Participate and coordinate Hotline Dispatcher Trainings
  • Plan and implement continued education and training for on-going volunteers. Track volunteer hours for each volunteer
  • Create YCPT (Youth Community Program Team) curriculum for the weekly meetings and plan various events
  • Track and prepare canvassing plans with volunteers with guidance with the Director of Community Engagement
  • Prepare documents and reports for all appropriate, project-related activities
  • Participate in the agency-wide fundraising events
  • Attend monthly volunteer group meetings
  • Attend weekly YCPT group meetings
  • Manage multiple tasks and set priorities with the Director of Community Engagement’s guidance
  • Handle a wide range of administrative and clerical tasks.
  • Prepare, pack, seal and load outreach promotional materials to use at outreach events
  • Communicate effectively with individuals/parents/teams in the programs to promote each program to be successful
  • Performs all other duties as requested by supervisor and management team
  • Participate in organizational-wide events
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed to accommodate program activities and events

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field preferred or equivalent and at least one year of experience in credentialing and enrollment work or application assistance-centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above;
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, writing and computer skills;
  • Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office software with an emphasis on Excel, Word, and Gmail;
  • Proficiency in written and spoken [Korean] preferred
  • Experience with data management and reporting
  • Proactive, forward thinker, multi-tasker who can come up with creative solutions
  • Extremely organized, detailed, efficient, reliable, and flexible with a hard-working mindset
  • Personal integrity and ability to handle confidential and sensitive information
  • Understanding of New York City’s diversity and experience working with people of diverse backgrounds;
  • Ability to travel within New York City

Compensation and Benefits

  • Salary range: $65,000 - $75,000, commensurate with experience
  • Benefits include health, dental, and vision insurance, generous paid time off, and 401k match for eligible participating employees.
